Avrig 35/Cascade Group announce for 2012 the opening of Pallady Shopping Center the biggest commercial center in Eastern Bucharest
The Pallady Shopping Center project's representatives, Avrig 35 and Cascade Group, joint venture partners, officially announce the signing of the contracts with the hypermarket chain Auchan and with Decathlon, the most considered sports store in Romania.
The project is located in the third district, the most heavily populated sector in Bucharest, at 50 Theodor Pallady Bd. The main anchors are Auchan - which is building here the biggest hypermarket in Eastern Europe, with a total surface of no less than 30,000 sq m and Decathlon - with a 7,000 sq m store. In addition to these, the development will also contain a DIY store (15,000 sq m), Furniture & Decoration (25,000 sqm), as well as a 20,000 sq m Commercial Gallery with over 110 stores. Thus, the commercial surface totalizes over 100,000 sq m and the construction will begin soon with the first stores to be opened in H2 2012.
The entire project will be built on 10 Hectares of land and benefits of over 800 meters of street frontage for maximum visibility. The commercial complex will also have 3000 above and below ground parking spaces for complete ease of entry and exit by car.
Auchan opens in Pallady Shopping Center its biggest hypermarket in Eastern Europe, with a total surface of 30,000 sq m, out of which 20,000 selling area, situated on two levels - ground- and first floor. Also the product range will be extended to 75,000 articles.

Not lastly, the unique attractiveness offered by Pallady Shopping Center through its diversity of the existing stores and its location in a very accessible area, convinced us of the fact that this is the place we must open this giant hypermarket", says Patrick Espasa, general director Auchan Romania.
To its turn, the Decathlon store, on a 7,000 sq m surface, will offer to its clients varied articles, for no less than 60 sports, among which there are: equipment for mountain sports - hiking, climbing, walking, articles for team sports, for racket sports, equipments for horse riding, hunting, fishing, fitness and town sports - roller-ice skating and cycling. "In the same time, due to the location of the commercial center near the highway with goes to the seaside, we will lay emphasis on the water sports, swimming, diving, surfing. Besides, we will have a swimming pool in front of the store for a month, during the summer, in order to allow our customers to freely enjoy swimming or diving", says Fabrice Beschu, General Director Decathlon Romania.
Pallady Shopping Center will have excellent access by car, but also by public transport - metro, tram and bus, allowing a short commute from almost any location in Bucharest. Theodor Pallady Bd. is the one of the main arteries for exiting Bucharest and practically connects the capital to Constanta through the Sun Highway (Autostrada Soarelui). This means large amounts of traffic on a daily basis especially during the summer.
For an even better access for the customers traveling by metro, the recently opened Nicolae Teclu metro stop will have a direct link into the shopping center.
Regarding the leasing of the commercial spaces in Pallady Shopping Center, important international and Romanian retailers have shown interest and are in advanced stages of negotiations. Among the most known future tenants are Deichmann, Burger King, KFC, McDonalds, Takko, New Yorker, Sprider, Cache Cache, Pet Center, Tina R, Jysk, Starbucks, Marks and Spencer, Forever 18 and Diverta.
The DIY and furniture store names will also be announced in the coming weeks which, with the already announced anchors, will solidify Pallady Shopping Center as one of the top retail parks in Romania. Due to these advantages, the estimated traffic is of 9 million visitors per year.
