Avrig 35's first venture outside Bucharest occurred in 2003 with the purchasing of buildings in 17 larger Romanian cities. The majority of the buildings were refurbished and the space rented to Raiffeisen Bank and various other companies. This 47,000 sq m portfolio, sold in 2008, represents the only true domestic real estate portfolio in Romania, with buildings in most of the Romanian provincial capital cities. In the city of Craiova, situated in south-western Romanian, an important University center in Oltenia, with an estimated population of 300,000 inhabitants, the building is located within the central, historical area of the city-University area.
